Pocono Manor Resort & Casino needs your help to ensure new jobs and economic opportunities for our area. A licensed casino in the Pocono region, with 3,000 slot machines in its first year of operation and the potential for considerably more, would provide an economic engine for the entire Pocono region, driving growth for numerous private businesses and government agencies in a multi-county region. We believe that a casino-resort hotel in this location would:
- Generate a direct casino-hotel payroll of about $36 million
- Spend up to $60 million annually on the purchases of goods and services from other Pennsylvania businesses
- Generate up to $103 million in annual compensation from all sources, excluding construction
- Create up to 5,345 construction jobs with an annual payroll of up to $189.6 million
- Create over 4,000 permanent jobs
- Generate up to $398 million in local spending—excluding gaming revenue—by attendees at meetings and conventions
- Produce up to $215 million in retail, dining and entertainment sales
- Increase direct visitor spending and total sales generated by traveler spending by 40 percent
- Become the largest source of funding for the Pocono Mountains Vacation Bureau by generating $800,000 in marketing fees for use toward the promotion of the entire region
